8 Fun Ways to Burn 200 Calories by Roy Orion
We all know we should probably do a bit more exercise than we do already, but it’s often hard to judge how much good, or how much energy (and therefore how many calories) you have burned during exercise when you’re not using fancy gym equipment.
Exercise for a lot of people can be hard work, with trying to juggle work commitments, family and the general pressures of living, finding time to travel to the local gym and complete a great workout can be very time consuming. For this reason not everyone can exercise sufficiently enough in order to lose weight effectively and permanently.
When a person is on a serious diet, they count their calories all the time. If the person goes above their calorie budget, this causes them to panic and think they are going to gain weight. If you ate 100 calories above your budget, don’t worry, because listed below are some great exercises.
What many people need is to find a way to burn excess calories on a daily basis without having to re-arrange their entire lifestyle. Below we list a number of ways we can burn up to 200 extra calories without doing what actually feels like exercise.
Getting fit doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are Simple Ways to Burn 200 Calories
1. Lace up those running shoes and hit the track. Running 1 mile will burn 100 calories. If you run about as fast as you can, this will burn over 200 calories in less than half an hour.
A treadmill would be perfect for this exercise, as it counts your calories while you run. Not everyone has a treadmill, so that is where it comes to old-fashion running. Take breaks if you need to, and bring a bottle of water and some music to listen to.
2. Pop in a video or head to the gym for 20 minutes of high impact aerobics
3. Pick up a brush and paint a room in your house for 60 minutes
4. Jog around the block for 30 minutes. Jogging burns calories twice as fast as walking, and you don’t even need to jog that fast. Just a simple jog for a half hour will burn over 200 calories, and if you have time to spare, a jog for an hour
will burn over 400 calories!
Jogging for half an hour without stopping can be pretty difficult for a some people, so jog for 10 minutes, take a break, and start jogging again.
5. Giddy up and Ride. Go horseback riding 50 minutes
6. Bust out the duster and dust the house for 60 minutes
7 Shoot some hoops for 20 minutes
10 Playing Drums
If you have a video Game with drum controllers in it(such as Guitar Hero or Rock Band), then this exercise will be perfect for you. After drumming for 45 minutes, you will burn around 200 calories. If you do vigorous drumming, you will definitely burn more. Real drums are better though, as you don’t need to stop until you want to. If you are in a band, this is the best exercise for you.
